Update sent to members on 6th May regarding the feedback on the recent proposal for physical contaminant levels in PAS110.

This communication was sent out on 24/04/2014 to members of the REA Biogas, ORG and Biomass Groups regarding a proposal on the physical contaminant limit levels in the new PAS 110.

Last PAS 110 Steering Group meeting: agreement achieved on critical issues

Following a public consultation on a draft PAS 110, the final meeting of the BSI PAS 110 Steering Group meeting took place on 5th February. The aim of the meeting was to achieve a consensus on outstanding issues regarding changes to be made to the specification.

In light of feedback provided by members of REA and AD operators registered on the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme, REA submitted a response to WRAP’s consultation on the ‘option paper’.

WRAP has commissioned reviews of Residual Biogas Potential test, Potentially Toxic Elements in digestates and feasibility of modifying limits whilst ensuring protection of the environment.

Jan 2012: Lower Reule achieves PAS 110

Staffordshire-based Lower Reule Bioenergy has become the third anaerobic digestion plant in the UK to be awarded PAS 110 certification for its digestate, as well the second to achieve compliance with the AD Quality Protocol.

The approval was awarded on December 22 2011 under the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme (BCS), which is operated by Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd, a company set up by the Renewable Energy Association.

Dec 2011: Follow up to WRAP's AD PAS110 workshops (2011)

At recent workshops AD operators and other stakeholders shared their experiences on the ADQP, PAS 110, and the Additional Scheme Rules for Scotland. A process has begun that could lead to changes in both the ADQP and PAS 110.
