EA release M9, Environmental monitoring of bioaerosols at regulated facilities
The new version of M9 has just been published by the Environment Agency. The changes are fairly minor from previous versions however this technical guidance note is one of a series providing guidance on monitoring to
regulators, process operators and those with interests in monitoring.
It provides information on the monitoring of bioaerosols from stacks, open biofilters and in
ambient air. It focuses on the following bioaerosol components: a) the thermotolerant fungus, Aspergillus fumigatus b) total mesophilic bacteria. The general principles of the measurement methods may also be used to measure other
types of bioaerosols.
A full version of M9 can be seen HERE Should you have any comments you wish to discuss, please contact Jeremy at the REA.
