FWRAP releases annual report highlighting successes with this cross-industry initiative.

The REA has been supporting the Food Waste Recycling Action Plan initiative over the last twelve months. This initiative is designed to improve the capture, supply and the quality of household and commercial food waste. Supported by WRAP the group has worked hard to collaborate more effectively and to identify and reconcile the blockages in the supply chain that continue to suppress the potential for the collection and recycling of food waste. There is still estimated to be between six and seven million tonnes of food waste that is not captured within the supply chain and that could be put to much better use through either composting or AD.
