SEPA consultations on Compliance Assessment and Charging Schemes

SEPA have launched two consultations, one on the new compliance assessment scheme and one on proposals for a new charging scheme.

Consultation on the new SEPA Compliance Assessment Scheme

This consultation provides an opportunity for you to give your views on SEPA’s proposed new Compliance Assessment Scheme. SEPA consulted on proposals to make improvements in their Compliance Assessment Scheme (CAS) in September 2015.  They have published their analysis of the consultation response and their conclusions on how the new scheme should be developed.  This current consultation builds upon SEPA's previous work, providing more details on their proposals for how the scheme would operate.

The key objectives of the review of CAS are listed below:

  • Make CAS simpler.
  • Make CAS fairer.
  • Make CAS more useful.
  • Make CAS more relevant.
  • Strengthen the incentive to improve environmental performance.
