The EA is going to review all thirteen Quality Protocols and decide whether they are still fit for purpose. This work will be carried out over the next 12 - 18 months with compost, digestate and poultry litter ash QPs being the first 3 to be reviewed.
Businesses are expected to jointly invest up to Â£149 million, alongside a Â£60 million government investment, to help fight the global battle against single use plastics. Funding could be used to find ways to cut waste in the supply chain, develop new business models and create new sustainable recyclable materials. This could include using plants instead of oils to make plastic, which will help reduce their carbon impact.
