ORG Conference Exhibition & Gala Dinner 2019

14th March 2019
National Trust Quarry Bank, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 4LA

The Organics Recycling Group of the REA invites you to attend our 24th Conference, Exhibition and Gala Dinner. This event is to be held at the National Trust’s Quarry Bank venue in Wilmslow, Cheshire, an impressive venue for the annual get-together of the organics recycling world.

Growth through innovation and resilience

This year’s conference titled ‘Growth through innovation and resilience’ will provide delegates with a topical, interesting and a varied array of speakers which will inspire, excite and stimulate debate at a time of much uncertainty.

The Keynote address will be given by Ray Georgeson, Chief Executive of the Resource Association on ‘Delivering resilience for the next decade’. There are few individuals within the resources sector who have such an informed and experienced view and we are delighted he is headlining the event for us this year.

We will also be debating the issue of ‘Protecting the UK’s landbank for all bioresources’. As an industry, we need to consider the wide array of materials that now compete for a sustainable home. This panel of experts including the NFU, EA and commercial operators will debate the issues of concern.

Speakers

Speakers from Defra, and the Environment Agency, will join us to provide an update on policy and the sector’s performance, by which time we will know much more from the impending Resources and Waste Strategy. There will also be overseas speakers who have been very popular in recent years. Arjen Brinkman from BVOR (ORG’s equivalent in Holland), will be speaking on ‘Carbon storage in arable soils’ and recent innovative developments in realising the true value of organics to land in the Netherlands. In addition, we’ll have Rasmus Eisted from Denmark explaining how the Danish Government has successfully stimulated sustainable gate fees in their biowaste sector.

ORG 2019 is more than just a Conference, it provides a platform to network with industry peers and get close to the movers and shakers in the sector and support our wonderful industry.
